Hello!
And a very warm welcome to Accounting & Other Stories…
This blog combines both my commitment to the Accounting profession which has been my 8-to-5 for almost two decades now, and my obsession with Design & Drama. A composition in verse or prose intended to portray life or character or tell a story by involving conflicts and emotions through action and dialogue; that’s the kind of drama I am talking about. My first blog wazozuri provided me with a canvas to tell all manner of tales. I’m glad to be back to this space, a little more purposeful, to continue telling stories which Tahir Shah – a prolific author and film-maker – says is the communal currency of humanity.
For my inaugural project, I write on Personal Finances with a fixed focus on COVID19. While my motivation is around examining the impact of the pandemic on personal finance and perhaps delving a little deeper into the behavioural aspects of financial management, the overarching goal of this project and Accounting & Other Stories as a whole is to help individuals navigate the complexities of finance (or accounting – which is argued to be the tree from which finance branched off).

A huge thank you to everyone who has made and continues to make this journey possible. Your stories, your support and your solidarity in this safari continue to give me the stamina to make time to write, to make it plain, so that the one who reads can run with it. God bless you ❤
And without further ado, here is the link to my introductory post DARE TO DREAM.
Happy Reading!
